Pinhole Photography + Film Development Workshop
TOSCA is a handmade camera, built from everyday materials: customisable, reusable, unpredictable, organic, human… It uses medium format (120) film and can be reused and customised. Like all pinhole cameras, TOSCA has a tiny hole instead of a lens, which is what projects the photographic image.
In this workshop, participants build and customise their own TOSCA and explore its technical and expressive qualities. The experience is also an encouragement to explore the creative side of building handmade cameras, shaping their characteristics to achieve the look you want.
To make the whole process of using TOSCA and similar cameras more independent, affordable and personal, the workshop also includes an optional black-and-white film development module, in which participants learn every step needed to develop their own films at home.
