Project Development

This workshop, with four hands-on sessions, is an open space where participants can develop their printing practice in alternative processes with a view to producing a small project, or simply use it as a safe space to deepen their explorations. The work will be planned individually between instructors and participants, so as to meet their expectations.

Workshop outline

Analysis and discussion of the projects to be developed
Planning the work for each session
Making negatives
Printing and processing images
Finalising the project (book binding, or other ways of presenting or sharing the results)

Learning objectives

Strengthen your technical skills in the alternative processes you’ve already tried
Develop a personal project, from concept to production, in one or more chosen processes
Gain autonomy in solving technical problems throughout the printing process
Explore the relationships between image, support and process more intentionally
Reflect critically on your own journey and results, adjusting procedures according to the project’s goals

Requirements

Participants are asked to send digital images in advance (digital photographs or scans of images) so that negatives can be made.

To enrol in this workshop, you must have taken part in hands-on workshops at the Imagerie studio (Alternative Dreams, Cyanotype*, Gum Bichromate*, Van Dyke Brown and/or Gumoil).

Participants who have prior knowledge of any of these processes but have not taken part in any Imagerie workshop may also enrol by contacting us beforehand.
